This week we'll be joined by author Patrick Mader, who wrote the book "Minnesota Gold", which chronicles 57 Minnesota athletes who won Olympic gold between 1948 and 2014. From Roseau to Rochester and multiple points in between, Patrick "Packy" Mader shares memorable conversations he had with these remarkable men and women who honored their sport, their state, and their country on the world stage over the last seven decades.
This is your chance to hear about some amazing stories and shake hands with someone who has met Olympic greatness. We hope you can join us for lunch on Monday. Thanks to Matt Stemwedel for arranging (this very cool) program.

May 19, 2018: Recap of Sand Creek Park Service Project
Thanks to Erik Hegg for arranging this week's service project at Sand Creek Park and Athletic Fields. Erik was joined by Jerry Koch, Bob Gander, Steve Rice, Grant and Nancy Fernelius and Nick Bednarczyk and his young son. Nick also brought along the club's sandwich boards, which were seen by several hundred patrons who were at the complex for various sporting events. This was the first of three clean-ups planned for 2018. It is an easy project and a highly visible way to tell the Rotary story about "Service Above Self". A great day indeed.
Coon Rapids High School Teacher Appreciation Event - Thank You
For several years our club has sponsored an end-of-year appreciation event for the teachers at Coon Rapids High School. A similar event was held earlier this month and reinforces the commitment of Coon Rapids Rotary toward the dedicated educators who serve our youth. Thanks to Coon Rapids High School faculty, staff and especially the students for a great school year - we look forward to working with you again this fall. Go Cardinals!
Coon Rapids Apparel Store Coming Soon
This week we plan to unveil the next generation of Coon Rapids Rotary apparel through a special arrangement with Rebyl Sports in Coon Rapids. We'll have an assortment of clothing items that you can purchase to show off your Coon Rapids Rotary pride. The apparel will feature our new CR Rotary logo - designed for the fashion-saavy to be sure. Look for details later this week. Thanks to Nick Bednarczyk for working on this initiative.
